We are all born to a mother and father, in a place, and at a time we did not pick. From that day, on, depending upon who are our parents, where we live, and when, our beliefs are shaped by those around us.
Each of us inhabits a body that is the center of our existence. Our experience of this world, outside, is the result of things we sense with our eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin; and the interpretations of those senses by our brain.
Left to ourselves, our beliefs would all be shaped by external stimuli, routed to our brain, and interpreted. But most of us are not left to ourselves, and these interpretations are affected by how others describe their own interpretations to us. But, we can only truly know what we feel and believe.
I think it could be helpful to share what I believe and how I came to those beliefs. I do so not to try and change yours but to share mine. I do so anonymously because it is not important that you know my identity. I don’t care if you share or disdain what I believe. I’m not looking for recognition. I’m not seeking money by attracting readers. I could live and then die keeping all this to myself.
In the end knowing what I believe and how I came to those beliefs may not help anyone else. But, perhaps, it may. And, so, I will do it.
